This particular book is available for free in electronic form, which is a good price compared with the .00 hardcover paper form, but reading at my PC or laptop has too many distractions, and it isn’t as mobile. For this particular book, I do use the electronic form as a reference when programming on my laptop away from home, but for non-computer books, it’d be nice to take the weight out of the equation.

Another advantage to an electronic book reader would be being able to read a book while out walking without the wind blowing the pages. Even a light wind can make it difficult. And turning pages in a paperback book without anything to set the book on can be challenging at times, let along a hardcover book.

I’ve been watching, and I haven’t found "the one" yet when it comes to electronic book readers. It’s not the Kindle, for a number of reasons. (I have nothing against Amazon as a company, and I enjoy using their online store service.) There are a few readers that will "be out next year" that I’ve been watching for a couple of years now, and maybe I’ll buy one as soon as they’re out…next year.

Of course, I’m still waiting for a handheld audio player and good wireless earphones. I’m one of those aparently few people who doesn’t have an iPod of some manner.
